How is a concrete leaf casting made?

Picture
To make a concrete leaf casting you first form a pile of wet sand to replicate the desired shape of the leaf.  Then a piece of plastic is placed over the sand  followed by the leaf.  Next the concrete is pressed over the leaf and allowed to dry.  Once the concrete has dried, the leaf can be removed.  The casting is then allowed to be  cured, painted, sealed and enjoyed.

Forever Leaves are uniquely handcrafted concrete leaf castings by Linda Stanke.  INDOORS  they can be used as a table centerpieces, shelf decoration, fruit bowl, candy dish, jewelry holder, spoon rest, or wall art. OUTDOORS, they can be used as garden art, a birdbath, butterfly bath or feeder.
